Default TN/VA/NC 3D weekend

After shooting a local 3D tournament here, Saturday....I waited for young Matt/TN to arrive for our two 3D shoots on Sunday. Matt came in just before dark....and after showing him around my hunting areas.....we just ate some dinner and hung out.

We met Aaron (Buckmaster) at 8"30 at the 1st 3D shoot....and got ready to shoot our first tournament in about 25deg weather. Brrrrr.

30 targets....with Aaron and I shooting Hunter Pro and Matt shooting Open Class rig..........Aaron scores 254. Matt scored 258.....and I had a 288.

So....on to the second tourmanent. 30 minute ride to VA....and we're there. Now it's warmer, temp. wise.....but colder due to the high winds. This was like nothing I've ever shot in.....adn I 'm sure it was new for these guys, too.

No fanfare......Matt shot Open Trophy....and Aaron and I shot Hunter. Same stakes and shots to 40yds.

I think Aaron came in with a 259. I shot 270....and Matt carded a 271.

Lots of fun....and I'm looking forward to shooting again with these two really great young men. I had a blast, guys.

I'll try to post up some photos.....and I hope they add theirs.

Nice photosexcept that last one. Looks like some old man snuck in the picture just as you snapped the shot.

I just got home about 15-20 mins ago. I made great time comming home. I had a blast guys, we will DEFINATELY have to do it again.

For my first 3d shoots I was pleased. The first one, I was just getting the hang of judging yardage. The first 15 targets were kind of rough. Then on the last 15 I shot great, almost even in the woods. Then we had some field shots. I went to crap, I ended on the 5 field shots going 5-5-8-5-10 [:@]. Something about judging targets in an open field killed me.

Then on the next shoot, I was shooting VERY well, and I somehow got a 0 on about a 30yd turkey. I'm still not sure how I hit a way high and right. Who knows. But 271 with a 0, I'll take that one all day. I struggled after shooting that 0, I guess it just let the wind out of my sail lol.

I'll have pictures up in a second.
