One of the easiest slate type calls to use is Knight and Hales Ol' Yeller. It sounds good too and gets the birds fired up more often than not. I also like the Primos Power Crystal. That's been my go to call the last few seasons. For mouth calls (alot harder to master) I like Quaker Boy's Old Boss Hen. Get a few mouth calls and practice practice practice. I always have one in my mouth but hardly ever use it unless I have to make a call without any motion. I like using box calls too, but more for a locater than working a bird.
