Whiskerbiscuit...or dropaway?

RE: Whiskerbiscuit...or dropaway?
I have a WB and love it, but my son has a Hostage and I am very impressed with that, as well. I like the fact that the Hostage does not touch the vanes at all, but still holds the arrow in place.

I shot a whisker biscuit years ago...I gave it up because it was so loud on the draw. It did not give me the confidence I needed to draw on deer that were close to me. I switched to a NAP Quicktune drop away and I really like it. It draws very quietly.

ORIGINAL: Rob/PA Bowyer
I just received two Limb Drivers for my General and 82nd. I have a Trophy Taker Pronghorn on my Allegaince, on the others I have a Hostage and a Golden Premier 2 prong,
I'd seriously consider the new Hostage Pro coming out in the Octane Line by Bowtech long before I'd consider a WB. In fact, I'll never have a WB on any bow I ever own. That's just me.

Matt/TN, I don't care for the WB simply because of the fletch contact, noise when drawing on certain arrows and vane wear. The new Hostage Pro by Bowtech has the bristles that hold the arrow in 3 places and open for the fletch clearance, that one intriques me greatly. No vane contact and the same exact principles of the WB.
I worked with and set up enough WB to see the vane destruction especially on hard offsets.
I understand the concept tho.

I have never used a drop away. I have been using the WB for years and have had great luck with it. I shoot 2d & 3d for hunting practice. I may switch for the leagues and see how much more accurate it is. Until I try one, I cannot give an unbiased opinion.

I like the looks of the Hostage. On my old cheap coumpound I shoot, (old and cheap compaired to most peoples' bows here, slow too) I have a three prong arrow rest that came with the bow. I have never seen another one. It is similar to bowdoodle (I think it was called) and to the Hostage except that the prongs are flat metal. Once setup there is no contact with the vanes. It is a rock solid rest and actually favors the hostage alot. I can turn my bow upside down and the arrow stays in place. There is a little noise with the metal but I've never been busted drawing it.
If I ever decide to buy another bow I may end up with a Hostage rest. Of course as much as I like spending money...LOL

Jason, make sure to check out the Hostage Pro when the Octane line comes out. The bristles are adjustable to match different size arrows. http://www.fuelthehunt.com/
