I have mixed feelings. Back in the day, there weren't many places to go to get answers. You figured stuff out, trial and error, for good or bad. While yes, the equipment was sufficient to kill a deer, often times the knowledge/ability to have it tuned to its full potential was missing.

Clothes weren't of the best quality as far as keeping me warm or dry.

I didn't know there were other options and ways of thinking beyond what my Dad directly taught me.

I'm glad I was young and carefree otherwise I'd never have realized the peril I was in everytime I hunted from that baker mighty mite stand.

They are 2 worlds, and I ma happy to have gotten to experience both, but I sure do like a lot of things from today.

Man I am one lucky dog.I have been bow hunting for over twenty years,if I had started out in todays circlesI don't think I would enjoy it any where near as much as I do.
Bow huntingwas simple and fun.

How fast is your bow? Who cares?[8D]

How light are your arrows? They ain't![]

How far is your effective range? What range? 20yards!

Does scent loc work? A shower does!

What is a management buck? A dead one!
Do you use mechanical heads? Why would anyone?

What is a mature buck? One that doesn't embarrass you in public.[:-]

I really feel for you guys getting started now ,it used to be about having fun with some family and friends.
Love it. When I started, you had to file you bear two blade broad heads to get them sharp. And compounds had nothing but round wheels. I was reluctant to use one for a few years. I can even remember the debates over the notion of using a compound and whether or not they were ethical. Wow, how times have changed.
