Default ? on Canada bucks

My Dad's taxi called to tell him that his cape was on the form and wanted to know if he wanted to come check it out. So we left work and went over and snapped a couple pictures and checked out some of the other deer he had in his shop. While I was admiring some of the brutes on the wall I noticed one of the bucks had a mane like a horse but not as long going down the back of it's neck. I asked the taxi and he said that it was from Alberta and that alot of the bucks up in canada grow these. Has anyone ever seen or heard of this?

By the way here is a couple pics of my dad's 11pt. (Sorry for the pic quality, it was from my camera)

A friend of mine took one here in MN probably about 10 years. Just a small basket 8, but he got the mount due to the mane. It was only a few inches long, but it was definitely a mane.

Yep, I've seen it a few times. Though not common, its not extremely rare. I had a set of sheds mounted on a cape with a mane. I'll get a pic of it soon.....its pretty cool.

My taxi friend in IL gets a few in every year with manes. Not all that rare.
