I only turn poachers in after they have fed their family with the eighth buck that year .

Bruce .... you are such a brat!

Jeff .... a guy tags his buck with his wife's tag (she doesn't even hunt), or it's the last day of the season and 2 guys are hunting, one with a doe tag, the other with a buck tag .... the guy with the buck tag tells the guy with the doe tag, "shoot whatever you see and I'll tag it if it's a buck."2 examples of what some would call poaching.
I had the opportunity.....if I were so inclined to think this way.....to take this route when I hunted in PA, this year. Didn't do it.

Yes. You described "crimes".

HONESTLY?????? Would I turn my neighbor in for this "crime"? 1 time thing????

Nope.

Just for conversation's sakes. That's all this is. I'm honestly just trying to feel the pulse of my peers.

Poaching is a crime........ just look in any DNR game laws book.
In New York State, the word does not appear anywhere in the game laws and though I'm not positive I don't think it does in any other law either. If you are arrested or ticketed for some violation it will never be for "poaching". The specific violation will be called out.

Can someone give us a definition that we can all agree with? I'm not opposed to that.
Why not just use the primary definition found in nearly all dictionaries?

Hey, the "grey area" feeds families. Are you against a guy trying to feed his family?

Bruce...are you saying every man who poaches is trying to feed his family....and that's why he does it?

So...are we saying that taking an extra buck....hunting out of season....etc....is the equivalent of speeding? What would it take for some of you guys to turn someone in (for poaching or OTHER offenses)?
