Default dropping antlers already?

Yesterday i went back to some new land i want to hunt and i just got done putting up my camera over some feed and i was driving back to my house and i found a nice shed layin there, its 5 points so it should be a 10 pointer, it scored 71. So my question is why are they dropping already? Usually they dont start dropping till January but maybe the big ones are droping cuz of the weight...

Here is Wisconsin they are dropping too! The cold weather and heavy snow/ice covering their food is stressing them out! I found a real nice shed last week!

Yep, I've got 2 sheds already and have a bunch of other deer on camera that have dropped both sides. Not really that uncommon.....I see it nearly every year.

The deer have been under a large amount of stress with the ice over the snow. they cant really get around too well. Maybe well have an early growing season this year too. Most bucks wont lose theirantlers till Jan-Feb

I think alot depends on how much they were stressed through out the season, rutting activity, food avaliability, harsh weather conditions, ect,ect,ect.....

It seems to be normal for bucks to start in december, some hold onto their antlers longer than others...

Exactly Dink......there was a pretty good drought earlier in the year as well. I do see a lot of them drop this early in the season, but maybe not quite this many. The last time I saw this many was (don't remember the exact year, I think around 2003) when we had a drought during the summer here in WI.

Yep,it seems a much larger percentage are shedding earlier this year than normal. The early harshwinter weatherseems to have them out of whack.
