Not sure about the metal ones, but have always used the camo colored string loops. Never had any problems with them. Not sure if the metal ones are a little heavier or not? I just really like the looks of the string loops anyways.

Metal ones can cause damage to your release.I have personally seen it.It wore a groove in the release and I actually watched the guy squeeze the trigger and the metal loop was hung on the release with the jaws open.[]This was a predicament to say the least.
The rope ones last a very long time,especially if you have a quality release.
