WHY would you not count the abnormal points in the "Gross"?
If you were going to score the buck as a non-typical, you'd add the abnormal points/inches to the net tipical score.

The part of the P&Y/B&C scoring system that I don't like is that the abnormal points are not added into the gross score but yet they're subtracted from the gross score. This is for typicals. For non-typicals they are added to the net typical score.

For Buckeyes example..... I see 2 abnormal points (7-8 inches). For a typical score they are deducted from the gross even though they were not included in the first place. Why not just ignore them for a typical score??!!

So are you saying that there is no scenario where a deer will get credit for every inch of antler he has (if he has abnormal points)? What good is "gross" score on a non-typical.....ifit has built-in deductions?

Did I ask that right?

Until they change there scoring system everything should be net like they have it. Gross doesn't mean a darn thing when it comes to P@Y or B@C. Like it or not thats the way it is and I don't see it changing.

B&C will now include the gross score in the booksso you get the whole picture with only the net score of course counting.
