Default off season bow storage

In the past I've always turned my bow poundage down when putting my bow away for the season because i was told this is what i should do to prolong the life of my bow. Is this really necessary? I shoot a ALPINE TETON LITE with split limbs. I have this bow shooting really good so I don't want to mess with letting the weight off and having to re-tune it this summer. Any comments? Thanks....

There is no such thing as off season storage, because there is no such thing as off season. Small game, spring turkey, varmints, wild hog... There's always something to hunt. And there's always 3D to shoot.

Wax the string and add a little lube to the wheels and any exposed bolts. Store it away from broadheads. No problem.

I would suggest to take it out every couple of weeks or once a month at the lastest and shoot it, not because it needs it, but because you do

I never turn down my poundage, and never had a problem. I do what huntinginga said, wax it and lube it.

Oh yeah, dont put it somewhere it can get too hot.

There is no such thing we always go to the local pro shop and shoot at his indor range and he has video shoot that is a blast. I think thAT it helps to keep you sharp during the off season. It is a lot of cheap interainment too so for me there ias no off season.
