I'll be shooting mine at 62-63#s. But I'm STILL thinking I'm gonna keep a good supply of arrow lube on hand.

I was over 90 last year with the FMJ and my Old Glory, in the 80s now with teh Commander, but going to switch to the FMJ again, and should be well into the 90s again. I too have a 32" draw, so I get the added benefit there, both in weight of arrow and speed. Can't beat the heavy arrows and high KE. If I do go to the airborne, I'm going to be shooting the FMJs, and not really sure how high the KE will be, but it will be scary! Could honestly get up as high as 120.

Wow! You're almost up to the same KE as a high speed .22 Long Rifle .

I've seen numbers near and over 100 ft/lbs of Ke with high performance bows like the Black Knights and similar or with bows that have 80 lbs or more of draw weight.

I'm impressed when I can get half that[&o].

I have to ask though;

For the majority of the hunting most folks on this forum do (whitetail and turkey) how necessary is it to generate that much KE?

Seems to me that KE in the mid- to upper 60's would be more than enough.

Hey it's got nothing to do with being "necessary". It's just a pretty cool by-product.

My longbow will get the job done (well.....I suppose it would)

Lemme ask ya this......If your best girl wanted to go from a "B" to a "D".....is that "necessary"?

But does this go back to ego? Being able to thump your chest at the range while exclaiming "My bow produces more KE than yours!"

Just wondering...
