I hate theives and would like to see them all go to jail for a long, long time. But still, I can't help reading this story, remembering "Alice's Restaurant" and drawing the comparisons.

"...they got three stop signs, two police officers, and one police car, but when we got to the
Scene of the Crime there was five police officers and three police cars,
being the biggest crime of the last fifty years, and everybody wanted to
get in the newspaper story about it. And they was using up all kinds of
cop equipment that they had hanging around the police officer's station.
They was taking plaster tire tracks, foot prints, dog smelling prints, and
they took twenty seven eight-by-ten colour glossy photographs with circles
and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each
one was to be used as evidence against us. Took pictures of the approach,
the getaway, the northwest corner the southwest corner and that's not to
mention the aerial photography."

Yeah not the kind of guy I would want to call a friend. Gets mad and points a gun at someone AND steals. Winner winner chicken dinner
And he stole a Mossberg to boot! The things people throw their lives away for....

I LOVE that song! What is wrong with a Mossberg? Mine has served me quite well for years (personally and professionally).

This story sounds like someone had a beef with the owner and this was some sort of payback.

So how did the local police know where to look? Sounds to me like someone wasn't happy with the owner. They didn't want the bow, just didn't want the owner to have it either. Either that or it's like the Toyota commercials, trash it so the insurance buys him a new one? Doubt that though, because the insurance companies never loose money, they'll get him with a deductible, deprciate the value to 50%, then up his rates, then dump his policy, give him a high risk rating so another insurance company can triple his premiums. I don't know who the bigger thieves are, the crooks who steal, or the insurance companies.

Nothing is wrong with Mossbergs, Ive owned a few and still have one. I meant...If I was a sorry enough POS to stoop so low to steal something, I would steal a high dollar gun to make it worth the risk.
