So, I'm pretty surprised. 19/20 people who voted are shooting over 60lbs.

I shot 70 to 75 lbs compounds and 65 pound recurves once in my younger days. With the faster bows and carbon arrows we have now. I have dropped to 65 lbs on my compound because the penetration is as good are better than the older 70 lb compounds, heavy recurves and aluminum arrows that I shot before

Well sort of, I thought there would be a wider range, especially in the 51-60 range. I'm at 68lbs, now but I think I'm going to drop down into the 60-62lb range.

Really, it doesn't shock me too much... If you think about it, with the speed craze we've had the last several years, everyone jumped on the high poundage bandwagon.

Its only recently people are starting to see that bows set lower than 70# are able to acheive the speeds that we all sought five years ago. Go figure.

I just had my 04 Liberty 80 in the shop last weekend. I put it on the scale and it read 76.5 lbs.

Alot of these people are cranking the weights up too because ofthe highlet off these compounds have these days. I'm just going off of what the guys I know that shoot compound's tell me.

Great point Schultzy, even with the 80% let off, and my bow set at 68lbs...I'll admit I find myself getting a little fatigued after a round of 3d. That is why I am going to drop 5-6 lbs.

I've also heard the figure of about 80% of all archers are over-drawn. That's why I thought it would be interesting to see everyone draw their bows.
