OOOOHHH YYEEAAAAAHHH!!!

The nastier the weather the better. The Drury boys hunt soybeans when the snow is really piling up. And I personally have seen deer pile into standing bean fields in late season around here.

Just make sure you are downwind of the entry point. You may have to let a lot of does and small ones pass by before the big boys show up.

I tell ya they hammered my Soybeans this summer, so mcu that they never really made it back from the chow down! In one of my area where I hunt here in Wisconsin there are track EVERYWHERE in the standing beans. We have a over a foot of snow on the ground right now so I think its easy food for them this time of year! I'll be on stand tomorrow on a trail leading to them tomorrow!

They eat beans in the summer and early fall, during this time they eat mainly the plant...After the beans turn brown they start to pop open on their own, sitting over a large bean field you can actually hear this, that's when the deer eat the actual bean...Walk down the rows, you will see the beans laying there...Quail, turkeys, doves and other animals love them as well...

In the last year, due to personal observation, I have found that beans are as good or (I think) better in the late season as standing corn is. Deer feed on them heavily untill they start to dry up (in september here), then they are left alone untill December when the snow really flys. Then they HAMMER them, good luck!

Another plus to beans is you can see the deer in the field, unlike standing corn sometimes.
