Do you hunt for sport or for food?
Are you out to set a camp record or fire up the grill?
I remember my grandfather shooting deer out of season so his wife and seven kids could eat well, while my grandmother was tending the garden and noone complained or turned him in.Those days are long gone but it still does`nt seem to me that he did wrong, how bout you?He was a lumberjack and stepped in a hole and broke his back and was too proud to collect wellfare,I think I would do the same with no regrets.

Yea #3 for me too. This year the does are cooperating more than the P&Y bucks.
Edit:
And since it's the theme of the day...Does Jesus love gun hunters too?

When it all boils down to it, the venison. I love venison too much to be an antlers hunter and I know how to prepare it corectly(helps that it is corn fed around here). That being said, I may wait weeks to arrow a mature buck. 1/2 because of the difficulty, 1/2 because they have by far the most meat. If a 150" 200 lb buck and a 130" 270 lb buck were both broadside at 20 yards, I would take the bigger deer (literally). Ifif the smaller buck waswas 200"......ok you got me.

Mark me down for number 4: the love of the hunt and simply being in the field and interacting with nature as opposed to just being an observer. Though venison chops never hurt my feelings!
