brace height?

RE: brace height?
brace height is the measure, in inches, from the string to the throat (deepest part) of the grip. They vary a lot, anwhere from about 5.5" to 9". Most guys who don't shoot a lot or who want a nice forgivingnhunting bow would be well served by a bow with at least 7" to 8". This will give you a decent tradeoff between speed and forgiveness.

RE: brace height?
Brace height length effects forgiveness due to how long the arrow stays on the bow after it is released. The higher the brace height ( 8.5 " for example)the sooner the arrow leaves the string resulting in less time for errors in your form to surface. Opposite- short BH(6.25"ex.)generates more power but the longer the arrow stays on the rest the more time for shooting errors to effect the flight of the arrow. Don't let anyone fool you... short brace height bows do shoot very well, but may not be for everyone!
