Its difficult to live in an enviroment that retards the music that is within your soul, I been there and done it when I was a young man as yourself, mine was with reptiles in catching gators and processing venom in the capturing of snakes to herptiogist, in which my mom and new step dad could not comprehand on why I would want to do this , but it was a passion within me that makes me what I am today.
I can not speak for you but it would be a shame to have music within you that you may go to your grave that may not be sung.
Its a very compromising situation when your a minor and living at home, but even though you may not understand your mom's ideas, she is your mom and respect her, Its a day when we all look forward too, moving out of the home, and then all will be better, your almost there and good luck to you. Read to your mom these bibles versuses and then explain to her that she is wrong and that you are doing what God would have you to do:

Genesis 9 Verse 3 God said to Noah "All moving things that liveth shall be meat for you."
Genesis 27 Verse 3 "Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons,THY QUIVER AND THY BOW,and go out to the field and take some venison."
Acts 10:12-13 “Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter, kill, and eat."

Protect your hunting rights, "Spay or neuter a liberal."

DH1213--difficult situation to say the least. Your mother is entitled to her opinions (as is everyone else), including you. I don't hear you mention your father, so I assume you are in a single-parent household. And there may well be some underlying, unresolved issues on her part there as well, that impedes her relationship with you. It sounds like face-to-face talks end up in confrontations, so any future attempts would seem fruitless. You may want to write here a letter telling her that you are just as passionate about your cause as she is hers. Additionally, ask her if she enjoys hurting you the way she has by throwing out things that are important to you, and trying to keep you from something your truly enjoy. (Any parent worth their salt, would never intentionally try to hurt their kids). There are a lot of good suggestions in these posts, so try and incorporate some of them into your letter (e.g.- negative alternatives to hunting). Also, the suggestion of counseling is appropriate; and if she chooses not to, you may still want to ask her if you can go (on your own) to try and find ways to cope with your situation until you're out and on your own. Going to live with your grandmoter is not the issue. While it may relieve you of the battles with your mother; running away from obstacles in life (unless life threatening) will never help you. Good luck, and keep on hunting....

Even a bad day in the woods, is better than any day out!

I am so sick of anti-hunters. Now we hear of one giving her own flesh, and blood a hard time. Silentassassin is right. God put creatures on this earth for a reason. And it wasn't just for us to observe them as so beautiful they can't be harvested by man. Man is the ultimate predator, the top of the food chain. We need meat to survive. Hunting got us to where we are today. Imagine if the pilgrams couldn't hunt! Some of these anti's are vegetarians, but they still eat fish. Well to me just because a fish swims underwater, and isn't easily observed doesn't make it a non-meat source. Fish don't grow out of the ground, they are meat. If some anti's do eat meat, then why is it ok for all your market meats to be butchered, but a deer can't be. What makes a cow any less worthy then a whitetail. I admire all god's creatures, but none of them are so magnificent that they can't be harvested for food. Do I need a deer in my freezer to survive. No of course not, but it sure dam well helps lower my grocery bill. Plus venison is very good for you, the leanest meat you can get. If killing is your moms problem I'm sorry to be the first to let her know. But death is a part of life. What does your mom do when a mouse shows up in the house, feed it, and bring in many more! What makes a mouse any less of an animal then a deer. Do we have bad hunters out there, yes of course, and they give the rest of us a bad rep. But does the mean all Anti's should look upon us as criminals? The last I knew it's my right to hunt, and how dare her try to tell us any different. I know this is your mom, and you love her. But it seems to me anti's are hypocrites that make me sick!
