Late season buck tactics???
Well, with the season winding down and taking the mature buck movement with it, what are some of your favorite tactics for taking a late season mature buck???
I have tended to focus on the food source that the groups of deer are focusing on and hope that he gets there before dark.
How do you hunt this time of year??

I started hunting a travel route between bedding and feeding. Every year at this time I can wait for them like clockwork. Last hour of daylight and here they come single file. Yesterday I saw many bucks together walking for the buffet table.

Hunt the travel routes inbetween bedding areas and food sourcesAm andPM hunts. I get as close to the bedding area as possible though to make the most of it. Our bedding areas are pretty defined here though. Like to be within a 100 yards ofbedding areasby sneaking in for thePM hunts.
AM hunts... one also needs to becareful getting in, to avoid disturbing the deer at the food source with it being so open here. Not uncommon having to walk 1 - 1.5 miles to get setup to not disturb the deer. Plus a lotofthe townshiproads are/can beblocked now with snow. They are not maintained in the winter.

I agree
Set up in between bedding and food
I try to stay about 20-30 yards in the woods, not on the field edge itself.
If you are still buck hunting, use a litle doe in estrus to catch any bucks that are still looking for that "last" doe.
