Cool looking animal. How many pounds of meat will you be able to get from him?

This is your typical cull meat animal, and yields about 300 lbs. of boned meat. Winds up costing you abou $3 per pound - which is not cheap, but still not bad considering the quality of the meat.

We're probably going to sell the hide, that's up to my wife though. I plan to boil out the skull and let her paint something on it. She (my wife) is an artist.

I finished butchering/processing today.

15lbs bratwurst
25lbs breakfast sausage
40lbs hamburger
the rest is in ribs, steaks, chops, roasts and stew meat.

I figure pretty close to 300lbs of meat, although I did add some pork fat to the sausage.

There's a place in North Texas you can harvest at beast like that for $800.00. I just don't really know if I could drag something that big back to my truck .
