I've drawn the name and thank goodness MOBOW wasn't in the original contest! That would have been a long hunt! "No Mobow - that is a squirrel." "No, that's a coyote." "No MOBOW! Don't shoot the neighbors sheep!" I am sending a PM to the winner and he/she can post their good fortune on the thread.

That's right folks, vikesfan353 won the contest and has been sent instructions. Once I have the property managed properly and have the cabins built, I am thinking of opening up a contest on an annual basis. What better way to meet new friends and introduce different people to the good old fashioned lifestyle of Iowa living.

BTW - for those of you who tried my chili recipe, it won another cookoff last night at the squadron and now I will be retiring from the military as an undefeated champion. Of course after testing it throughout the day yesterday before the judging I needed a gallon of ice cream last night to help with the fire. lol

Rob,I came upon a value years ago when my daughter had an assignment to get definitions of words from her parents. We went through several vocabulary words and came upon the word "wealth". I thought about it for a few seconds and the following definition to me. "Wealth is not measured by the amount of worldy goods you have, but by how long and how fondly you are remembered after you are gone." It was pretty much the value that my grandparents had given to me in my youth.

I have served this great country since 1975 and now that I am retiring, what better way to make an impression on others than something like this. After Brad has had his hunt, I hope that he will have had a hunt that will give him fond memories for years to come. Then maybe he'll go back home and do something for someone else (the ole pay it forward effect).

When you really think about it, what have I done other than made an effort to make a new friend?

And next year when the question is "What day of the year will I fill my tag?" and Mobow's answer is "Apple", that's another year I won't have to hunt with him!
