Bow Kills Are Easier....

RE: Bow Kills Are Easier....
Hey Jeff,
I really don't have a dog in this race, It just doesn't sit well when I read post after post about how "superior" bow hunting is and how difficult it is and yadda yadda yadda.
The kicker is, most of thefolks typing orsaying this, (I get this all the time in the pro shops I visit.) have never even tried gun hunting or their only experience with it is their dad's 12ga andthe 50 yard open field they hunt over. Another thing I notice is a lot of them are very young.
I just listen to them and smile......it's just not worth it. If people need to think what they are doing is the toughest or most challenging in order to somehow boost their self esteem or give them self worth then far be it from me to destroy such a fragileinner-system of existence.
Bursting their bubbles is not going to make me feel any better and will only further submerse the uninformed into their "think tank" to a depth they may never resurface from.

I haven't read all the pages, so forgive me if I'm preaching to the choir. But, where I hunt in IL, we had been having encounters with 4 real good deer, one scored 177 3/8. The reason I know what it scored is because it was shot at 7:10 opening morning of gun season. All four were shot by 10 a.m. on opening morning. The three of us had all seen these deer throughout bow season, but never were able to close the deal. The guys who shot all 4 bucks don't bowhunt. All were shot at exted ranges (100 yards was the closest). So, I don't know if easier is the right term, but gun hunting definitely tips the odds in the hunters favor in farm country where you see the bucks alot, but out of range.

To be honest, there are many Archery forums i will not even visit anymore because of this attitude. Archery talk comes to mind. Have not been there in years and dont ever plan on going back. I mean, those people over there place themselves two steps above God. Or atleast in there own minds.
