im pretty new to hunting, this is my third year and from what ive seen this year in my areas is that our rutis just starting . i shot a really nice eight pointer monday morning and seen 7 bucks and 9 does. that was my first buck so pretty excited, ill post pics soon. anywaysseen some chasing but it seems like the bucks are all out looking. today i seen 3 bucks and no does. this past weekend my buddy shot a nice ten pointer and said all the bucks he seen were chasing. i live in central il

Just adding from my previous post.....
Sunlight has a whole lot to do with the estrous cycle of a doe. Also trees and many other things in nature are affected by sunlight as well. If you notice, the trees are way behind this year as well. The trees turned late, dropped leaves late. White oaks are normally done dropping acorns by beginning of October. Heck last week in Ohio there were still a few white oak acornson the trees. Just stay positive and stay in the woods as much as possible. Dont be afraid to hunt from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Lots of big deer moving at those times! Cold fronts are coming thru now too. Good luck!
