rattling in WI

RE: rattling in WI
It is not post rut now. It is almost peak breeding (most does inestrus at one time). Usually around the 17th is the peak. Best strategy is to hunt the does and hope to either have a doe bring one past you or catch a buck in between does. Probably won't get much interest in rattling.
Good luck

What GregH said.... You could maybe try some doe bleating and grunting or buck growling to catch a bucks attentionthat knows there is a hot doe around but hasnt quite put the chase on here yet. Rattleing could work but not likely this time a the rut. WCL

definetly not post rut, its getting close to the time when bucks are "henned up" so to speak tho, which I think won't be too bad with gun season two days away.
as far as rattling, I'd say it is worth a try... worked for me last Saturday (check out the scorecard)

No its not post rut I couted 15 bucks on my way to work this morning that crossed the road infront of me and all of them were in a radar mode. If you ask me its really just getting to the peak now I havent seen that many deer in one trip to work in a long time. Im not sure what good calls will do now because they dont really respond well to calls during the rut but hey you can try. At least ive never had any good response during the peak of the rut with calls.
