SOUTHEAST IL HIT HARD BY DISEASE
Just wondering if anyone out there has had there deer herd hit as hard by disease as we have had in our area? Numerous reports from bowhunters seeing less than half the deerof what they normally would encounter are common place. Weestimate nearly 60% ofour deer population has been wiped out. Could it be thatwe are just theisolated pocketof devestation biologist talk about or is it widespread? Farmers reported finding lots of dead deer laying in fields and we have found 4 bucks dead still in velvet. This is not the year to thin out the does if this is the case.

I believe its just natures way of sorting out the deer populations. I know here in southern Indiana we had quite a few fall victims to blue tongue but I have still seen more deer in my last 4 outings then I saw all of last year.
