I've used the hairspray and it does work. Get the cheapest brand you can find on the shelf. Look for White Rain hairspray. That's generally the cheapest and best, for feathers anyway. Good and stiff.

For the past 20 years or so, I've sprayed my feathers with Scotchguard the night before I intend to go out in the wet stuff.

Also, take a gallon size freezer bag with you to keep your feathers covered and don't nock up until you see the deer coming. The sprays and stuff work for a while, but eventually the water will soak through. I do everything I can to keep the water off of them as long as possible.

I've heard of guys using cheap sandwich bags, poking the broadhead end through the bag and running it up the arrow to cover their feathers. That way they can keep an arrow nocked while waiting. They just draw and shoot and the bag falls off as the arrow leaves the bow. I've never done that myself, thinking it's gotta be noisy, so I can't give any advice on that either way.

Thanks guys. Think I'll spray and cover then in the quiver with a bag. Not sure about shooting through a baggie, would think that would be noisey. Thanks again.
