First kill for the commander
I finally took out the new commander and decided to knock the new off of it.
Not a monster, but I am darn proud of him. I got him on high pressured watershed public property. I mean this property 450acres has at least 4 hunters a day on it since the season started, so I feel good about this kill. I found alot of scrapes this morning after seeing a few doe and spikes, and came back in and was up in the tree little before 4PM. Only had 1hour to hunt but it seemed like enough. Hit him at dusk, knew it was going to rain, so got on him 1 hour later, and dragged him to an opening and had to go to church bible study smelling like rutting buck. Came back and just got him out.

RE: First kill for the commander
Thanks guys, this is the second time this year, I have learned not to lose heart. First I got a decent sika deer at noon, right when I thought there was no way these totally nocternal creatures would roam. Then last night, when I saw how hard this place was hunted, I didn't think there would be anything over the size of a spike would be there.
Hope you all have a good season, besides Greg, who already has had a bumper season.
