OK i have been hunting this deer for about 4 weeks now i only see him in the evning mainly because i can only hunt on weekends due to highschool

this is a really big 11pt. now i saw him comin out of the woods into a large hayfield that i was set up in. i kinda figured out were he was stayin. so i hung my stand about 200yds.. away from teh bedding area. i saw him 2 nights l8er while in the stand he was just jogged by about 50 yds. out no shot avalible out there. so then tonight come around and i was sittin there and i saw him but this time he was prbly 400yds. away in a completely other field iahve never saw him there but this deer is so RANDOM he comes out in a dif. place ever night it seems. Y do u htink this is. and i can't go to many places in the woods. it is to thick for a bow i am really confused w/ this deer any ideas on wat to do w/ him???

Now that i keep thinkin about it i hate to say this BUT I can't wait for gun season this deer ahs been at 60 n 70 yds.s fom me so many times i just would love to get him w/ a bow

He may be winding you. Deer also seem to have a sixth sense. Get him whenhe isin rut, might be that time in Ohio, not sure. Call at him (Grunt/Doe Bleat), and maybeuse cover scent and scent attractents to your advantage. Good Luck.

id guess just the rut is making him run all over the place. stay put and hunt him when the wind is right.

a mature deer doesn't get mature by being stupid. if your grunt at him and make sure you have the wind in your favor. if he is a really good mature buck and he comes cose enough you could snort wheeze to finish him off.

Don't know until you try, my best advise is just to play the wind. I can't stress that enough. If you do use a decoy, it's a must that you keep it (as much as you can) scent "free"

A decoy will be a great idea, but you MUST at all costs make it scent free. That means, scrubbing it down with scent free soap, spraying it down with scent killer, and keeping it in a scent free environment while storing.

Even then, they won't always work, but they make for some fun hunts.
