Liver shot

I shot a doe on Saturday morning a little far back. She was slightly quartering towards me, but not by much. Anyways, when I saw where the arrow hit, I was a little upset and thought that I would be following a long blood trail. Well the doe ran about 15 yards up a little hill, got to the top and fell over backwards back down the hill. She tried to get up and then collapsed dead. The whole thing lasted no longer than 10 seconds. I was pretty surprised to see that kind of reaction. When I gutted her, I saw that I hit her straight through the liver. I didn't see any evidence of a lung or heart hit. Has anyone seen a liver shot produce such a quick kill before? Here she is...

Yea i shot a doe last year much the same way you just described and had very deadly results. I have found the liver shot to be a good shot but not preferable.
P.S.- love the Super Slam i have two buddies that shoot them and i shoot the Buckskin, gotta love the Reflex line!!

I do like the Super Slam bow. I am a big fan of Reflex bows!
Ya, I was wondering if I hit something else that may have resulted in such a quick kill. I did hit the front of the stomach, but not by much. I think I proabably penetrated the diaphram, but am not sure about the spleen.
