RE: sewer pipe feeder
yep, used them alot. 6" PVC about 5' long (has to be short enough so you can pour feed out of a bucket)with a 6" Y fitting glued onto the bottom, get a cap for the top, wire it to a tree and your ready to go, will hold 50 lbs of corn or close to it.

Just FYI
S40 is steel or PVC! The schedule is the thickness of the pipe! It can go from 10-160! The schedule number indicates a pressure value! Approximately 1000 times the pressure-stress ratio!

Lay a 5' piece on the ground, on one endslip a cap, don't glue (that will be your top end).On the otherglue a Y fitting (that's your bottom) with the Y pointing upwards (this is what they eat out of) and you can alsoglue a cap on the bottom of the Y. I didn't hang mine, just stood it up with the bottom end on the ground and used bailing wire to tie it a tree. It'll take a couple of weeks some times for them to get used to eating out of it, but once they do then they're hooked.
Having said all that, I've changed to the hanging bucket feeders since they have timers that control when and how much corn is dispensed, but the PVC is a cheap way to get started.
