Your Buck to doe Ratio (actual sightings)

RE: Your Buck to doe Ratio (actual sightings)
I'm not sure how accurate this is. I'll post up my numbers.....but I know I'm seeing the same doe groups a lot. If I see a group of4 does (for example).......3 days in a row.....and only see the 1.5yr old buck that lives nearby every third day......it's gonna look like I saw 12 does to one buck. When, in reality, the ratio is 1:4.
That being said....my log numbers (on the year) are as follows:
I've seen 91 deer from stand. 50 Does......8 bucks....the rest fawns. In reality....if you throw in the male fawns and take into account the multiple sightings of the same doe groups.....I'm certain the ratio isn't as bad as it would appear on the surface. We're gonna take THIRTY does out of the herd, here, this year. I'm hoping I'll see some empirical evidence that we're making a difference, next fall.

Counting fawns as does...
From the stand:
6 does, 1 spike, 1 unconfirmed
Including area sightings, not necessarily in stand:
21 does, 2 bucks, 4 unconfirmed.
