Disabled Veterans Need Your Help
GPMD brought up a good point on the deer hunting forum. I see less people on that forum than I do on this one, so I'll bring it up here.
Every state has what is commonly called "disabled veterans" but I have been informed by a few that some of them refer to themselves as "Veterans w/Challenges". A lot of these guys used to hunt before they made their sacrafice and now have no place to hunt and no one to help them. Some states put on hunts for them, like Iowa where a local farmer has forked out a fortune to buy lift stands and modify his place to make it accessable for the veterans. Every year there is a hunt on his farm for veterans around this area.
Maryland is looking for "hunting buddies" to assist military personnel at Walter Reed. I am sure that other states have a need for able bodied hunters to assist some of these special veterans. For those of you who can, contact your local Veterans Administration and what you can do to help.
Also, respond to this for a while to keep it at top until everyone has a chance to decide whether or not they want to help please.
God bless those who have made their sacrafice for America!

RE: Veterans Need Your Help
Good post. In Minnesota a person interested would be better suited to contact their counties veterans representative, as this person tends to be in the know for all veteran related issues in his or her county.
