The vortex Vipers and Razors have a locking diopter so they will not move on you. But they do not fall into that price range.

The Fury's that come out here in a few weeks will have a locking dipoter and are just over $300

Yeah I know it's optics but that forum....is too slow.

So what are the bestsmall to midsizebinoculars for say $300 or less.
Waterproof and fog proof.

Also does anyone make a binocular without the right lens being adjustable. That single lens adjustment for vision correction that ALWAYS goes needs adjusted..I have 20/20 and have no need for that..it just irritates me that it always moves!

Leave it to Buckeye to spend almost every available nickle ..lol

Nikon 10x42 Monarch ATB Binoculars
Item NIKO030
List Price: $470.95
Our Price: $299.95

I'll check these out! Thanks Guys
I'm in the market as well. I carry a pair of Brunton 10 X 50's to the trees with me. They are big, but they are beautiful, I was looking to downsize some. Matt PA hated my binos, I love them. I think he's carrying Nikkons too.

So, these are the ones to have ey?

I will tell you the Vortex Diamondbacks are every bit as good as those Monarchs, but $90 less.

Now you got me interested. I'm comparing both the Monarch and the Diamondbacks online. Seems like the Vortex's weigh 3.7 ounces more, smidget bulkier, 1.6mm less eye relief BUT have aincreased close focus of 3.7 ft over the Nikonsand 90 foot more FOV. Vortex has a Lifetime warranty where as Nikon has the 25 year limited warranty. Hmmmm....[&:]

Seems like there are a few differences but I don't think it's a $90 difference. I need to do more research but Vortex is sounding nice as well.

Are flip-up objective lens covers an option with the Vortex? I don't think Nikon offers that.

Well, I just keep on finding good things out about the Vortex's. They are also Fully multi-coatedwhich is as good as it gets. Nikon is only multi-coated. Lookin' good...lookin' good.

Absolutely, these are a great set of binos. I have them in Realtree. Unfortunately for you, they don't come in Enigma so you will have to go with black or green. Assesorize with a pair of Crooked Horn bino system and you're set.
