RE: Who carries a hangon up and down on their back?
I used a LW assault (8.5lbs)for the first time up in Alberta this year. The guide had a hook on the side of the stand so it can be hung from your belt while climbing (with a harness) hands free. Attach the stand, and pull your bow up. It worked well.

I use a hang-on and sticks and love it... No more hunting for straight trees, hunt the right tree instead. Its quick, effective, and plenty safe. I still use my climber for the rare occasions that I know the exact tree I will be hunting, and that it is limbless. Here are some picks of my set up I took after camo'ing them. I have been useing the Alpha...
The far stand is my hand climber...
Notice the quicky quiver mount on the side frame They only cost a few bucks and keep your arrows ready at your side, instead of in the way on the sdide of your bow, or swinging and dropping off a limb or hook.
