I was only out from around 3:30 to 7:00 and had a big doe and a button come by me at 5:20.The button was almost as big as mom and she was a beauty. I let them walk. Didn't want to shoot a deer the first day out. I will probably regret that decision, but oh well!

I don't want to talk about it..... Shut out again tonight... 5 hunts, 5 different stands, over 20 hours in the woods, and ZERO deer sightings this year.

I did see 4 other hunters on the 80 acres that I hunt. I also had 3 teenagers with fishing poles walk 20 yards from my stand 30 minutes before dark. And I found a permanent wooden stand built right over the only bedding area on the property. I talked to two of the hunters and found out that there are at least 8 known people who are hunting this spot, plusseveral tresspassers (one of which took a nice doe with a rifle this weekend [:@][:@]).

We have literally every possible entrance and exit from this cornfield covered between the 8 of us LOL! I'm going to have to find another place to hunt. This farm has been good to me (3 deer in 2 years) but I think it's time to move on.

Things are really going well this year!! [:@] I can't wait to see a deer. Is it possible to hunt all of October and not see ONE DEER? The months half over. This might be a record.

I cant get back out till Mon. eve and Tues. am and pm.
The opening week of our season i was seeing noting when it was but stinkin hot. The cold spell came and it was like someone turned on a light switch, the deer movement was great. Im seeing plenty of Doe's button bucks and fawns. Have seen only one buck but it was when i was checking out an area that i had found some sheds. jumped him out of his bed ten yards from where i found the sheds (possibly his) He was not spooked and did not see me, but was wondering what had made the noise and ended up just walking off. I will try and hunt him Tues. The buck sign is the slowest i have ever seen around here (rubs) but finally found some Thursday before going to work and is a pretty good one.
