the funny thing is there going to push the deer deep in the woods were the hunters are waiting i would bet there will be more kills that day then any other day

May not have been PETA, sounds more like ALF(Animal Liberation Front).
Couple of guys at Gander Mountain today were talking about rumors of anti-hunters stage protests on public land. They were saying that these folks are shooting blank guns, playing radios loud, honking horns, and just generally making a nuisance of themselves.
Michigan has laws about harassing hunters, but these nuts are willing to go to jail to prove a point. They figure that even if they get a fine and do some time, it was worth it save a few lives.
I bet old Daniel Boone would probably have parted a few hairs had folks been doing that to him. I certainly hope that they don't come to my woods and start trouble...even though I may have challenged them too.

On topic: No, they never had days hunting like we do. They didn't wake up in a comfortable bed. They didn't have coffee brewed in 5 minutes. They weren't always safe when they went into the woods. No, nothing we do is anything like a day they had. Be glad for that. Their life may seem romantic, but it was hard. Much harder than many of us could even handle. They didn't go hunting to enjoy the view and be at peace. They went hunting so they and others could eat. Different ball game my friend. Different world.
