Finally Some Luck In This Heat (pics now)
well my dad and i left the truck at 5:15 am over an hour befor shooting time so we were pleased with that. usually we run late, so i knew it would be a good day. i sat there and was watching a racoon sleeping in the tree across from me when about 6:44 am i see two does crossing the creek to the west of me at about 40 yards. well i prepared for the shot when all of a sudden i hear my dad shoot his crossbow and hear a deer come screaming towards me. though she only made it 30 yards before piling up. then i realized it was only 6:45 am so i sat a while and had a little doe bust me while she was trying to find her friend who had been shot. we climbed down after a while exchanged congrats and gratitude and then the work began. shot her at 6:45 and we just got home and got the meat in the freezer. got some pics but i have to upload them and i will do that in a minute. just to let you know, the property we hunt is only about 1 - 1.5 acres. so we chose the two best spots and are about 80-90 yards apart and his crossbow is loud. also she was shot with a montec and had no blood except for right at the arrow and about 5 yards from where she died. it was a heart shot so she should have bleed bad but she didn't. which confused me because every other heart shot deer we ever harvested, they bleed a whole lot. why do you think she didn't bleed. it was a pass thru but she didn't bleed. FINALLY we are both so happy to get a deer, we have both been hunting hard since the season opened and are actually suprised to have harvested her in this ungodly heat. pictures are to follow. also forgot to tell ya'll when we put her on our deer cart and i started to pull, the wheel broke. so i had to drag her out instead of rolling. not a big problem, but i was used to the cart.

My dad on the right and land owner on the left. she is a very great woman. i hunt with her grandson and we are all very close friends we just love her. so grateful to have private land and she only lets us hunt it.:

Congrats!
When you put an arrow through a deers heart it stops pumping. Take out the arteries two inches above the heart and it'll pump till empty.
