RE: i am now a mobile hunter
I like climbers and the great positive is mobility and suprise. Other than the rut, I don't think most
mature bucks are going to walk by an old ladder stand or lock on.
But there are some trade-offs (like with most things): (1) depending on the tree not as sturdy or safe
(just my experience), (2) noisier getting in and out, (3) a lot more effort getting up (doesn't
bother me a lot when its colder, but working up a good sweat getting up sucks).

I like my climber but it sure is tough to creep into the woods in the dark with one on your back. I usually leave itin the woods chained to the tree. Don't forget your safety harness and make sure the top and bottom are tied together. Don't want the bottom to drop out from under you on your way up.

Remember, when you start at the base of the tree you'll want to start your climber at an upward angle. The tree narrows as you go up and it will level. Practice will get it perfect to where you know what tree to look for or know how much to start your angle. Great buy by the way.
