if you are wondering if the fawn would survive with out its mother....yes it will it no longer suckels milk by hunting time....the only thing that will kill the fawn is stupidity..ie hit by car.....and the other is finding food because the mother will be older wiser where the good food is.

yes i would shoot either....but i like meat and a fawn just doesnt fill the freezer for me so i pass on them..generally i like to take does that are 3-6 years of age because they will have twins or triplets, young and old does will generally only have a single fawn, but a 6+ year doe is just another feeding mouth so it must go also.

Defenitely try for a shot on the doe if she offered. Probably wouldnt take the fawn because I am out for meat also, as mus stang said before me.

I'd shoot either one as long as it wasn't a button buck.

but im talking aobut would you shoot the fawn? can you shoot fawns?
No I wouldn't. Don't need the meat that badly. Rather let it graze more. It's like 2 meals maybe.

In my area, we haven't reached the point we need to aggressively take out does, so I'd probably take the fawn. I see no reason to spare a fawn, unless you just want more meat for the freezer.
