Elephant taken with Bow
I just returned from Zimbabwe where I harvested a 6 ton bull elephant with my bow. It was an adreniline rush. I was charged by a elephant, rhino and chased by a croc on this trip, what more could a guy ask for. I shot my bull at only 15 yards, I had bulls as close as 10 yards (that was a charge, that all most made me wet my pants) I'd be glad to share the particulars with anyone interested, such as bow wt., kinetic energy, arrow wt, etc...

RE: Elephant taken with Bow
Congrats man. Can you put up a picture?
I only hunt what I'll eat, but if I ever did go after an elephant I think I'd be too afraid of their government to head to Zimbabwe lol...too much CNN prolly but dunno.
Also, did you get anything else while there? Pics with a story would be great. =)
Thanks,
Dave

RE: Elephant taken with Bow
My BowTech Tribute bow was setat 100#, and I was using 125 grain InnerLoc Broadheads. My total arrow wt. was 750 grains, they were double stacked Easton arrows. I had to use a the original Knotless loop because all other string loops were braking under thewt. I also used a Scot "Shark" Release it was rated for the 100# pull.
Any other questions???
