Back in the early days when deer weren't as plentiful in central Illinois, I once went an entire season without seeing a deer from my stand. This would have been about 1982, and I imagine I probably sat something like 50+ times over 3 months.

Gotta be at least 15 sits without seeing a deer. Tough to stay motivated when it's 4AM and colder out than my wifes heart. Really envious of you guys who see deer everytime. Sure must keep you alert..

I met your hero about a month or so ago. He opened up his new store which is about 5 minutes from my place. He's got a new kind of trebark out now.

You know i think this is a great topic, and in return some hunters feel "required" to take a Non-Mature buck. Here in texas, some of my spots I see does, then nothing. Next I might see a Buck way off as I walk out of my stand at night: but usually the month of October at least the 1st half is REALLY slow! I've has 20+ days looking at the same leafs and racoons, that I really have to calm myself down when a young buck finally walks my way and wait a couple of years for him to grow! But that why they call it hunting not shooting.
