Depends on what state you are in. Here in Iowa, before a deer can be moved from the site, it has to be tagged. Also, you have the right to track an animal onto other property (unarmed of course) after it has been shot. By the other guy taking the deer (if it was without a tag on it), he is poaching even if he is the land owner. Call the game warden to get the specifics for your state. Good luck.

RE: I need GAME WARDEN
I called a game warden that I used to work with first thing this morning. I told him what happend and he is going to me with my friend and I tonight and then go over to the guys house. In Pa you are allowed to follow up on your kill (cross property lines if needed) If a land owner gives you problems a warden will come and ****** you to your deer. I told the Warden we don't really expect to get the buck back, which is a shame since my buddy would have had it mounted but we would like to see something happen to the landowner that gutted and took it as his own. I feel like if I am following the rules why should we have to put up with this moron. We also had 2 ladder stands stolen last season so I am getting kind of fed up with people. The spot is great to hunt and the immediate nieghbors are more then anyone could ask for. I'll keep everyone updated, I'm heading out after the other 8 point I saw.
