RE: Ok, now I'm REALLY upset!!
Mobo, sorry to hear bout that. Kids can dang near cause a person to commit a felony..... It may help to keep this in perspective, this too shall pass. Job had many things hit him at once and he stood up to the challenge. It did pass as will this delima of yours.
As for Wack, I LOVED that.... It sounds like something I would have done (had I thought of it). When my Daughter and Son came to me and said they wanted to quit school I told them they better start looking for a place to live and a job cause they weren't staying with me in MY house. Dad's house Dad's rules...
In my case I honestly believe my kids were testing the waters. Even though they had spent the last 16-17 years with me they still wanted to go through the motions of my answer. I hope this is the case with your son too. The hardest thing my Dad ever said to me was he was disappointed in something I had done. To this day it sticks with me. I too was an idiot as a youngster. No I didn't drop out of school (I feared for my life on that one) but fill in the blank and I did the rest.
Lastly I will say, my Grandma often told us you don't get no sense till your 25. That isn't some magical number, it's about the time hormones quit ruling your thoughts. You begin to rationalize better decisions you will live with for a long time. Some folks never get no sense, some start getting it a little earlier. Even though I had 2 kids before I was 21 and a young bride a good job and was a pretty good guy, looking back, I didn't have any sense... That "STARTED" to come later...
I will pray that you are able to reach your son and guide him with this and many other decisons in life.
