Default how do you practice your shooting?

How do you guys simulate shooting out of a tree if you dont have an area where you can get up in your stand and do so. Today I took the screen out of my second story bedroom window and shot out of that. What do you guys do?

I stand on a milk box which is placed up agianst a tree,

Gets you used to shooting from an enclosed area.

Awsome Idea! Maybe I should build a second floor so I can practice shooting? Actually, we have an elevated platform on our broadhead range at the club. I usually hit that once or twice a year. After yesterday tho, think im gonna hit it more often. All my elevated stand checklist items (draw level, bend at waist, etc.) seem to go out the window whena deer is coming into my shooting lane. It should be more automatic. Luckily, even tho I hit high, I put down a nice doe yesterday.

Since we sold our ladder stand.....We either stand on the utility building.....or go toa friend's house and shoot off his wooden deck on the back of his house.

I don't have that problem. Trees everywhere, I hang a stand but after 26 years of doing it, I don't have to practice that anymore. It's not as difficult as it seems, bend at the waist and shoot as if your on level ground. As long as you keep your form, your going to hit where you aim.

I will stick with Rob on this one. I dont practice out of a tree. Just bend at the waist and you will be fine.

twildasin, correct but I don't want to get the wrong message across.

If someone has never done it or has very little experience doing it, it should be practiced but once you've got it, or know it, it's a matter of just continuous practice on the ground and knowing what to do.
