Among the stress of my wifes biopsy I was able to get out and do a little hunting this opening weekend. Saturday morning we had a good killing frost and a temp of about 26. I sat for a few hours and passed on a nice little 7 pointer. Saturday nite, didnt see a thing. Sunday morning, 0, Sunday nite tried a different spot and around 615, had two bucks come in right under me, trust me folks fresh earth and rubber boots makes the differnence, they were under my stand for almost 20 minutes, walking across and aroundright where I came in. Right after they left i heard some bleets coming from the east, so I used my growl and made a couple soft grunts, they turned and came right in, two nice does. Im hoping to get out tonight after work if its not too hot, supposed to be pretty warm all week and may put a dampner on my hunting. nothing I hate worse than hunting in the heat and humidity. But all in all not a bad openeningweekend I guess.

26 degrees?!?! that's wild. my weekend was spent hunting in the 85-90 degree range.

Sounds like a pretty good opening weekend. No shots? Bucks and does under tree, waiting for the right buck only? Good weekend and prayers sent for the Mrs.
