wind and scent question
ok i go spend 20 bucks of some good scent put it around my stand out 20 yards in four spots and the wind is heading from the northwest and i have it in my face. Now wont my 20 dollars worth of scent just flow downwind with my scent which is the oppisete direction i am hunting if so what is the point in using scents

RE: wind and scent question
The rule I was told is that you only put out scent when you are hunting that particular stand. And you put it out as you're getting there, not a day or too before. And for many areas it is waaaay to early to be using many scents anyway. What kind are you putting out?

RE: wind and scent question
If you use the cover scent on yourself and the wind does switch you may be o.k. IMHO it's too early to be using doe pee and buck pee, the rut is way too far off in my neck of the woods (i dunno where you be at, so it could be different) and if the wind switches I normally get out the area as quick as possible and get to another stand that will work with the new wind direction.
