35 yards is the longest shoot I would make at a deer. But it is a presonal decision based on your ability, equipment and confidence.

IF i have a range finder and IF the conditions are perfect IE..no wind, rain, snow..and IF im shooting in the open, im comfortable to 40.

that never happens..i dont own a range finder as of yet so if i aint shooting top pin, i aint shooting. my top pin is good till about 25yds.

i find from a treestand my estimation STINKS. i thought a tree was dang near 20yds away. paced it...it was 12!! that being said...i cant see past 25yds in MOST my spots.

i got pins from 20 to 60yds at 10yd increments...50 and 60yds i dont get to practice often so my groups are bigger...but 40 is my backyard limit and thats where i do 90% of my shooting so my groups there are still good. 50 and 60 pins are on...just dont get to shoot them often. made a 60 and 67yd shot on a 3" bullseye at a fun shoot a couple weeks ago. but cant group really good that far yet..

gimme a range finder and perfect conditions and im confident to 40 for hunting.

everyones different. you gotta find your confidence range and stick to it...if your confident range is 20 or less and you have him at 25 or 30, let him walk. chances are better he will come back another day than you making a killing shot...i rather take the chances of killing him at 15 another day than wounding him at 30 today

Same for me. I have a 40 yard pin and I'mshooting nice groups with myBowtech Commander at 40, but I don't have the confidence to take a "real world" shot out at that distance just yet.

25 and down for me just my comfort zone but it has to be what you are comfortable with not what we are.

so if you start sighting in your bow, do you start at 10 yrds and if you are hitting it perfectly or good then you move up to 20?
