hunting in the rain?
How do you guys feel about hunting in the rain? Im not worried about getting wet, but want to know how well deer move and if anyone else is worried about bloodtrails washing away? Im talking a light rain, not a storm.

light rain is supposed to be great hunting. last year, i was afraid of getting wet(no good waterproof gear) and was afraid of blood trails washin out.
got good gear this year...so if it aint pourin, i will be hunting...like always, if i aint 10000% confident on the shot, i aint takin it. heard light rain wont wash a good blood trail...and with a good hit, he should go far...

I love hunting the rain. Deer will move in a light rain, but in my experience, not so much the heavy
stuff. If there has been one of those half day downpours, I want to be in the stand when it
slacks up, the deer will be moving. Also, right before a rain is good. The deer have internal barometers.

RE: hunting in the rain?
I like the light rain but I am hesitant when bowhunting, I lost a blood trail on the biggest buck I ever shot a couple of years ago.I shot the deer 15 yds broadside, complete pass through. He ran off,I left and got a buddy, came back about an hour and a half later. Good blood on the arrow, started raining, lightly, had a good blood trail for about 60 yds, rain kept gettin heavier and heavier, thick woods. Lost the blood and never found the deer. Looked for hours. Came back the next day more hours no deer. Never have gotten over that and rain makes me want to stay home in bow season because of it.
