I hunt in Portage, right off of the Wisconsin River. I went out opening weekend and the mosquitos were terrible. Absolutely miserable. Unfortunately i didn't have a thermacell, i highly recommend you bring yours. I know i will be getting one before i go out this weekend.

i hunted opening weekend and the mornings the skeeters were non existent. totally different matter in the afternoons. If i didnt have my thermacell then i would have not been able to sit out!! bring it if you want to stay alive man.

We had a freeze here Friday night (night before opening day). I figured the mosquitos would be done as a result but I was getting nibbled a bit early this evening in the backyard. I don't know how bad they were as I didn't stick around to find out.l
