Default Mechanical irony

It seems like most mechanicals have little cross sectional area even when deployed. How do they fly if they are shot when deployed? Are there fixed designs that look more or less like deployed mechanicals?

My wolverine 3p's fly very well when deployed. They fly better IMO than fixed heads. Though if you made a fixed head that looks like a mechanical it would be illegal in many states as it would be concidered barbed.

BEPREPN: I think the little wings(blade extensions?) you talk about have such a low profile they come closer to approximating the flight of a field tip. Yes, the can catch air but not enough to matter. AS far as shooting a mechanical &quot;Deployed&quot;.... it then comes closer to a fixed blade. I tell you, I needed some more arrows. I got Lens guy to refletch a dozen and a half the other day. I put broadheads on 10. I test fired 5 at 20.... DEAD ON. 30 yards today. Who needs mechanicals when a Thunderhead shoots so sweet?<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

They certainly look like they would fly well. Almost nothing there to plane.

I shoot 125s. I'm trying to squeek every grain into these carbons I can. Besides that, I used to shoot telephone poles in my old bow and had to shoot 125s to get any kind of FOC.
