Happened to me on my first day of archery hunting ever. I was told to follow the cateyes and it would take me right to a ladder stand. I get to within 200 yards of the stand, and between me and the stand, 150 yards of that crap. Bow in one hand held high above my head and pushing through. After about 45hard fought minutes I got through, losing about a pint of blood. Get up to the base of the stand only to hear a herd of deer running up through the woods. Just adding insult to injury. Didn't see a damn thing all day. When leaving, I skirt the outside edge, knocking out almost an hour of walking and marking a new trail.
